Sorta.
I need new music. So, give me some recommendations.
I'll listen to pretty much anything except metal. I mean, I have strange/horrible taste in music. (Right now? Totes on an "Imagination Movers" kick. It's just so catchy. I cannot stop watching any kids' show with music. Backyardigans? Love that shit.)
SO MAKE ME LISTEN TO WHAT YOU LIKE. If it has lyrics I'll probably like it.

Jonas Brothers - Catchy & hilarious (esp Don't Charge Me For the Crime w/ Common)

Metro Station - synth FTW!

Date: 2009-08-19 08:20 am (UTC)But Relient K is great. Well, I've only ever listened to "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything", but I'm willing to listen to more. (Truthfully, I have the Veggie Tales "Silly Songs With Larry" CD.)
My friends laugh at me having any Jesus music when I am an atheist but if this doesn't make you smile, something is wrong:
Anywhich, I'll look all those up. Sounds great.

Date: 2009-08-19 01:55 pm (UTC)Laura Marling is a sort of out there thing and people don't tend to be all, "YAY SHE'S AWESOME!" I think this is mainly because she's classed as folk but she has some fun sort of pop-folk stuff that is hilarious and upbeat and she's about eighteen (or nineteen, I am far too lazy to look it up) and has some extraordinarily deep lyrics which are extremely surprising given her age. Wow, I sound like a patronising tit but yeah, she's fantastic.
The Hush Sound are upbeat and fun and poppy and I love their Goodbye Blues album, but they're sort of popular. The Tings Tings are Britpop and brilliant, TV on the Radio are my favourite for strange sort of indie rock business, Voxtrot is also extremely good and again sort of indie rock but they're fun so I don't care. My music taste is kind of crap, but they're ones I can think of the top of my head. And I should really stop rambling now.

The Shins. The Shins the Shins the Shins.
Delerium has excellent world/techno things going on.
Kenna - wonderful, heartfelt techno/pop. "New Sacred Cow" is an amazing album all around.
Neverending White Lights - lovely slow-beat somewhat melancholy melodic rock. It's a project, not a band, and each song has a different vocalist from a number of different well-known groups.
The Pernice Brothers - Chill as fuck, melodic and soft, can be very depressing but really amazingly pretty stuff.
Royksopp - Best pop/techno/fun stuff ever.
I most highly recommend Guillemots. They are seriously fantastic. Let me know what you think!
